Individual Laptop Keyboard Keycap Key Replacement for Asus ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 (GA401)

Regular price $5.49

Bring your keyboard back to life — no need to replace the entire board!

This listing is for individual replacement keys for the Asus ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 (GA401). We carry both the BLACK and SILVER versions of the keyboard keys for the Zephyrus 14. Both are 100% OEM and will offer you a perfect fit and finish.

The key replacement option is much better than replacing the keyboard as it's soldered onto the palmrest, making the repair very difficult. The hinge clip is version AS57 — if your keycap is off please verify, but if you're not sure it's ok as it will be the same.

Each order includes a complete key assembly:

Keycap – the top plastic part you press

Hinge clip – the internal scissor mechanism that connects the keycap to the keyboard base

Rubber cup – provides the tactile spring when you press the key

Condition:
All keys are 100% OEM original in great, clean, and fully functional condition — carefully removed, inspected, and ready to snap right into place.

Important Compatibility Note:
⚠️ Please double-check your hinge style before purchasing — different hinge types may look similar but are not interchangeable.
If you're unsure or your key type isn't listed, contact us and we'll help identify the correct version.

How to Choose the Correct Keyboard Key Replacement

Selecting the correct keyboard key replacement is essential for proper fit, function, and appearance. Keyboard keys are not universal, and choosing the wrong type may result in poor fit or incompatibility. Before ordering, confirm the following:

Keyboard Brand & Model

Keyboard keys are designed to fit specific brands and model series. Always verify your laptop or keyboard model number before ordering, as even visually similar keys may use different mounting mechanisms.

Key Type & Position

Identify which key you need to replace, such as a letter key, spacebar, Enter key, Shift key, or arrow key. Larger keys often use stabilizers and may require different components than standard letter keys.

Mechanism Type

Confirm the key mechanism beneath the keycap. Common types include scissor-switch, butterfly-style, and mechanical switch designs. The replacement key must match the original mechanism exactly.

Layout & Language

Ensure the keyboard layout matches your device, such as US QWERTY, UK QWERTY, ISO, or ANSI. Layout differences can affect key size, shape, and labeling.

Backlight Compatibility

If your keyboard is backlit, confirm that the replacement key supports backlighting to maintain proper light diffusion and appearance.

Included Components

Check what is included with the replacement. Some listings include the keycap only, while others include the retainer, hinge, or full key assembly. Selecting the correct option ensures a complete and secure repair.

Color & Finish

Choose the correct color and surface finish to match your existing keyboard. Even small differences can be noticeable once installed.

If you are replacing an existing key, we recommend removing one intact key from your keyboard and comparing its shape, mechanism, and mounting points before ordering to ensure compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these full keyboards or individual replacement keys?

These are individual replacement keys, not full keyboards. Each listing clearly states what is included, such as the keycap only or a complete key assembly with hinge and retainer.

How do I know if the key will fit my keyboard?

Keyboard keys are not universal. You must match your keyboard brand, model number, key position, and mechanism type. We recommend comparing the replacement key to an existing key from your keyboard before ordering.

Do replacement keys include the hinge or retainer?

It depends on the product listing. Some replacements include only the keycap, while others include the hinge, retainer, or a full key assembly. Always check the “What’s Included” section before purchasing.

Are these OEM or aftermarket keys?

These are OEM-style compatible replacement keys designed to match the original fit, feel, and appearance. They are not manufactured by the original device brand unless explicitly stated.

Will the replacement key support keyboard backlighting?

If your keyboard is backlit, select a backlight-compatible replacement. Backlit keys are designed to allow light to pass through correctly and maintain uniform illumination.

Can I replace larger keys like Spacebar, Enter, or Shift?

Yes, but larger keys often require stabilizers or multiple mounting points. Be sure to select the correct key position and verify the required components for proper installation.

Is installation difficult?

Most key replacements can be installed without special tools. However, care is required when attaching hinges or stabilizers. We recommend gentle pressure and alignment during installation to avoid damage.

What if I ordered the wrong key?

If the key does not fit, contact us before attempting installation. Matching the correct model and mechanism before ordering helps prevent compatibility issues.

Can replacing a key fix an unresponsive keyboard?

If the issue is caused by a damaged keycap or hinge, replacement may resolve it. If the problem is related to the keyboard’s internal electronics, a key replacement may not fix the issue.
