How to check the screw before you buy

  1. Frame and motor screws must not reach the motor windings; check the length against the motor's mounting depth.
  2. Diameter: across the threads an M1.4 screw measures about 1.4 mm with calipers (usually a hair under). If yours measures noticeably more or less, it is a different thread.
  3. Pitch: 0.3 mm from one thread crest to the next (33.33 crests per centimetre). A thread pitch gauge or the pitch-gauge tool settles it in seconds.
  4. Length: measure from under the head to the tip for pan, button, wafer and cap heads; countersunk (flat) heads are measured overall.
  5. The record states 3 mm. Going longer risks bottoming out or touching parts behind the hole; going shorter loses thread engagement.
  6. Driver: the source does not name the drive. Standard M1.4 heads take PH000 / PH00 for Phillips and T2–T3 for Torx, and a 1.3 mm hex key for socket heads; a bit that fits loosely will cam out and strip the head.
  7. Tightening: no device-specific torque is published in these records. The site's general figure for M1.4 is about 8-12 N·cm into metal threads and 4-7 N·cm into plastic bosses; snug it up and stop.

Common mix-ups with M1.4

  • Whoop drone M1.4 comes in steel, PEEK and RENY versions: plastic ones are for cameras, not structural frame use.
  • Whoop motor screws differ between M1.4x3mm and M1.6x4mm across BetaFPV/NewBeeDrone product generations — check the exact model.

Questions about BETAFPV Meteor / Air / Cetus whoops screws

What size screw does BETAFPV Meteor / Air / Cetus whoops use?
M1.4 × 3 mm for motor fixing screws (steel and PEEK versions).
How long are the screws in BETAFPV Meteor / Air / Cetus whoops?
The record gives 3 mm. Measure the original from under the head (overall for a countersunk head) to confirm before ordering.
What is the thread pitch of an M1.4 screw?
0.3 mm (coarse), which is the standard pitch for M1.4 machine screws. The tap drill is 1.1 mm and the normal clearance hole is 1.6 mm.
What screwdriver do I need for BETAFPV Meteor / Air / Cetus whoops?
The sources do not name the drive. For M1.4, Phillips heads normally take PH000 / PH00 and Torx heads T2–T3; socket heads take a 1.3 mm hex key.
Can I use an imperial screw instead of M1.4?
No. Imperial look-alike: #0-80 UNF (1.52 mm) — close in diameter, different pitch, do not mix. Use a true M1.4 screw so it does not cross-thread or strip the hole.
