Lost a case screw or building a mount for a Pi? This page gives the thread, the hole pattern for each board, how to pick the length, and the M2.5 screws we have in stock.
Raspberry Pi mounting hole and screw chart
| Board | Board size | Hole pattern (centres) | Hole | Screw |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Raspberry Pi 5 | 85 x 56mm | 58 x 49mm, 3.5mm from edges | 2.7mm | M2.5 |
| Raspberry Pi 4 Model B | 85 x 56mm | 58 x 49mm, 3.5mm from edges | 2.7mm | M2.5 |
| Raspberry Pi 3 Model B / B+ | 85 x 56mm | 58 x 49mm, 3.5mm from edges | 2.7mm | M2.5 |
| Raspberry Pi Zero / Zero W / Zero 2 W | 65 x 30mm | 58 x 23mm, 3.5mm from edges | M2.5 clearance | M2.5 |
| Raspberry Pi Pico / Pico W | 51 x 21mm | 47 x 11.4mm | 2.1mm | M2 |
From the Raspberry Pi mechanical drawings and the Pico datasheet. Hole = drilled diameter.
Picking the screw length
- Board onto a threaded standoff or brass insert: 5mm or 6mm.
- Through a case wall into a standoff or nut: board + wall + 3-4mm of thread; 8mm is common for cases.
- HAT stack: the standoff carries the height; use short screws (5-6mm) top and bottom.
M2.5 screws in stock, by length
All are M2.5 metric flat head Phillips screws; the product name shows what the listing was written for, but the thread fits any M2.5 hole.

FAQ
What size screws does a Raspberry Pi use?
M2.5 metric machine screws. The four mounting holes on the Pi 5, Pi 4 Model B and Pi 3 Model B/B+ are 2.7mm clearance holes for M2.5, as shown on the official mechanical drawings.
What are the Raspberry Pi 5 mounting hole dimensions?
Four holes on a 58mm x 49mm rectangle, each 3.5mm in from the board edges, on an 85mm x 56mm board. This is the same pattern as the Pi 4 Model B and Pi 3 Model B+, so cases and mounting plates carry over.
Does the Raspberry Pi Zero use the same screws?
Yes, M2.5, but the hole pattern is 58mm x 23mm on the 65mm x 30mm Zero board, so B-size mounting plates do not fit.
What screws fit the Raspberry Pi Pico?
The Pico has four 2.1mm holes on an 11.4mm x 47mm pattern (Pico datasheet), which suits M2 screws, not M2.5.
How long should the screws be?
Through the board into a threaded standoff: board (about 1.5mm) plus 3-5mm of thread, so M2.5 x 5mm or 6mm is typical. Through a case and into a standoff or nut, add the case wall thickness. Stacking a HAT on standoffs, use the standoff length the HAT asks for and short screws top and bottom.
