M2.5 Screws

M2.5 screws are 2.5 mm across the thread with a 0.45 mm coarse pitch. They sit between M2 and M3 and are the usual choice for laptop bottom covers and hinges, Raspberry Pi and other single-board computer mounting holes, motherboard brackets, security cameras and small radios. This collection gathers all our M2.5 lengths, from short 3 mm screws to 14 mm.

M2.5 is easy to mistake for M2 or M3 by eye, so check with calipers: a worn M2.5 thread still reads close to 2.4-2.5 mm, while M2 reads about 1.9 mm and M3 about 2.9 mm. Measure an old screw with calipers: the thread diameter gives the M number and the length gives the second figure. On a countersunk head the length is measured overall, head included; on a flat-bottomed head it is measured from under the head to the tip. When a cover or hinge uses several lengths, keep the old screws in order as they come out so each new one goes back into the same hole.
