M2 x 4mm Screws

An M2 x 4mm screw is 2 mm in diameter and 4 mm long, one step longer than the common 3 mm laptop screw. It is used where a bracket, daughterboard or plastic part adds thickness: USB and audio boards, keyboard plates and stabilizers, SSD brackets and some bottom covers. Every M2 x 4mm item we sell is collected here.

If a 3 mm screw only catches a thread or two in your part, 4 mm is often the fix; if a 4 mm screw stops before the head seats, go back to 3 mm. Measure an old screw with calipers: the thread diameter gives the M number and the length gives the second figure. On a countersunk head the length is measured overall, head included; on a flat-bottomed head it is measured from under the head to the tip.
