Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II screw size
M5 / M6 · length not stated in the sources
Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II takes M5 and M6 metric screws. None of the sources we found gives an exact length, so measure the original before you order.
There are 2 separate fitment records for it, including M5 primary ground / PE connection bolt, torque 3 Nm (M5) and M6 chassis earth / ground busbar and AC input-output PE bolts, torque 5.5 Nm (battery term (M6).
2 of the 2 records are marked confirmed, drawn from 1 source (victronenergy.com).
M5 means a 5 mm nominal diameter with a 0.8 mm thread pitch. Imperial look-alike: #10-32 (4.83 mm) — the other common rack thread; check before mixing.

How to check the screw before you buy
- If several screws hold the same part, check that they are all the same length before assuming they are.
- Diameter: across the threads an M5 screw measures about 5 mm with calipers (usually a hair under). This device also uses M6, so measure each screw rather than assuming they match.
- Pitch: 0.8 mm from one thread crest to the next (12.5 crests per centimetre). A thread pitch gauge or the pitch-gauge tool settles it in seconds.
- Length: measure from under the head to the tip for pan, button, wafer and cap heads; countersunk (flat) heads are measured overall.
- Driver: the source does not name the drive. Standard M5 heads take PH2 for Phillips and T25 for Torx, and a 4 mm hex key for socket heads; a bit that fits loosely will cam out and strip the head.
Common mix-ups with M5 / M6
- Carbon bosses strip easily: 2-4 Nm torque and the right length so the bolt doesn't bottom out.
- Truss and stage-light clamps use M8 or M10 bolts depending on tube diameter — larger than anything in this database, so don't substitute an M6.
- UR cobot flange bolts are commonly sold/quoted as 'M6 bolts' but the required length depends on the tool thickness; UR's own guidance is bolt class M6-8.8 to ISO4762 without a fixed length, so length must be selected per adapter/tool stack-up, not assumed as a fixed mm value.
- VESA displays over 50kg move up to M8 x 1.25, which is outside metric M6 hardware - don't force an M6 bolt into a heavy-panel mount.

Questions about Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II screws
- What size screw does Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II use?
- M5 for M5 primary ground / PE connection bolt, torque 3 Nm; M6 for M6 chassis earth / ground busbar and AC input-output PE bolts, torque 5.5 Nm (battery terminals are M8, out of scope).
- How long are the screws in Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II?
- None of the sources states a length. Remove one screw and measure it from under the head to the tip (overall for a countersunk head).
- What is the thread pitch of an M5 screw?
- 0.8 mm (coarse), which is the standard pitch for M5 machine screws; a 0.5 mm fine pitch exists but is uncommon. The tap drill is 4.2 mm and the normal clearance hole is 5.5 mm.
- What screwdriver do I need for Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II?
- The sources do not name the drive. For M5, Phillips heads normally take PH2 and Torx heads T25; socket heads take a 4 mm hex key.
- Can I use an imperial screw instead of M5?
- No. Imperial look-alike: #10-32 (4.83 mm) — the other common rack thread; check before mixing. Use a true M5 screw so it does not cross-thread or strip the hole.
- How tight should the M5 screw on Victron MultiPlus-II / Quattro-II be?
- The source gives 3 Nm for M5 primary ground / PE connection bolt, torque 3 Nm.
